Who we are

The legally mandated representative body for every student, here at HOK and across Austria.

The Austrian Students' Union, in German Österreichische Hochschüler:innenschaft or ÖH for short, is the legally mandated representative body for students in Austria. At HOK we speak for students across all 29 degree programmes: to programme directors, to the academic board, to the university management.

We are students ourselves, elected by students. Alongside representing you, nine departments run much of what makes studying in Kufstein worthwhile: advice and the hardship fund, events, the sports and culture programmes, the buddy scheme for incoming students, free equipment loans.

None of it costs you anything on top. It is paid for out of the union fee you already pay with your tuition.

Confidential

The union is a public-law body in its own right. What you tell us stays with us, including when the difficulty is with a course or a programme director. If you would rather not give your name, we can advise you anonymously.

FH Kufstein is now HOK

The university is called HOK | Kufstein University of Applied Sciences since the rebrand. Nothing about your studies changes: programmes, credit recognition and degrees carry on exactly as before. Our email addresses are moving from @fh-kufstein.ac.at to @hok.ac.at step by step; mail to the old addresses is forwarded.

Where your union fee goes

The fee is set by law and collected together with your tuition. Not a cent of it goes to the university.

26.20 €
per semester · from the 2026/27 academic year

Up from €25.20.

Of that, €0.70 pays for accident and liability insurance that covers you during your studies and at union events. The rest funds the work of the union: representation and legal advice at federal level, and everything we run here in Kufstein.

How much of it reaches us in Kufstein is in our annual accounts under downloads.
